Webinar "Empowering Truth: Challenges of Global Disinformation”

As part of the IV edition of the Global Summit on Disinformation, next Wednesday, July 10 at 10 a.m. (EST), there will be a webinar focused on the challenges posed by disinformation in the region, with a particular emphasis on the impact of generative artificial intelligence on information consumption.

In addition, the opening of registrations for the IV edition of the Global Summit on Disinformation, to be held on September 18 and 19, will be announced, the thematic themes of the event will be analyzed and some of the speakers who will participate in it will be presented.

In the context of the entry of generative AI into the world of disinformation, and the increasingly complex challenges of distinguishing between truth and lies for journalism and other professions. This webinar will feature Carlos Lauría, Executive Director of the Inter American Press Association, Soledad Arréguez, Coordinator of the Education Area of Proyecto Desconfío, Renán Estenssoro, Executive Director of the Fundación para el Periodismo, and Adrián Pino, Executive Director of Proyecto Desconfío.

The Summit
The fourth edition of the Global Summit on Disinformation will take place on September 18-19, 2024. Organized jointly by the Inter-American Press Association, the Fundación para el Periodismo (Bolivia), and Proyecto Desconfío (Argentina), this event brings together journalists, researchers, academics, fact-checkers, media and government representatives, civil society organizations, professors and students. Over the years, the Summit has become an unmissable event in the global fight against disinformation.
