III Global Summit on Disinformation
Fact-Checking Project Round

Disinformation has become a challenge to democratic life on a global scale. As digital technologies have increased the speed and reach of information, they have also allowed disinformation to spread more easily. Putting this agenda on the table and working together with stakeholders from different areas is the main objective of the third edition of the Global Summit on Disinformation, to be held on September 27 and 28.

The Global Summit on Disinformation announces the call for the Fact-Checking PROJECT ROUND (innovation challenge) and invites media and/or platforms that want to share a success story, an ongoing project or a technological development that has improved the work in detecting and combating pieces of disinformation to apply for their initiatives.

This initiative is led by the team of Bolivia Verifica (Bolivia) and Info-Veritas (Spain) who will be in charge of the implementation and selection of the projects.

The call is open since Monday, July 24 and will close on Sunday, August 27 at 23.59 hs (Bolivian time UTC -4).

The selected projects will be notified via e-mail and through the Summit’s official channels on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

Objectives

The PROJECT ROUNDUP seeks innovative projects to make visible and amplify to audiences creative/innovative efforts to curb false, misleading or out-of- context information in order to foster partnerships and encourage dialogue in a joint fight against misinformation.
